Hollowlea Comes Through With Win in 2010 Bill Stutt Stakes

September 27th, 2010

Punters who backed Hollowlea at $10 odds will be laughing all the way to the bank as the three-year-old bay colt took a dominating win in the 2010 Bill Stutt Stakes.

Jockey Blake Shinn had somewhat of a tricky run from the inside gate, though he was able to guide Hollowlea along the rails, gradually gaining ground until he was slowed by frontrunner Run For Levi. In the last 50 metres, Hollowlea overtook the leader to take the win by 1½ lengths. The win has now put the colt back in strong contention to take the Caulfield Guineas to be held on October 9.

Run For Levi ended up in second with race favourite Bullbars taking third.
