Pierro has proved too good for the field to win the 2012 Bill Stutt Stakes at Moonee Valley Racecourse last night September 28, 2012.
The three-year-old kept his unbeaten record in tact with an almost five length win over Carringbush Jack, who placed second, and Jimando, who placed third.
Pierro was paying odds of $1.06 to win the 2012 Bill Stutt Stakes at bookmaker.com.au.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse was over the moon with Pierro’s latest race win.
“He is such an exciting colt,” Waterhouse said. “It was a galloping lesson.
“I loved the way he lowered himself and found the line. His acceleration was the best thing.”
Jockey Nash Rawiller made sure he was kind to Pierro during his 2012 Bill Stutt Stakes run, with his bigger spring tests looming on the horizon.
“Pierro is going on to better things so I wanted him to win as soft as possible,” Rawiller said.
“He’s not a horse that is going to win a race by 10 lengths – he is the type that gets the job done.
“But I hope everyone enjoyed this he is a really special horse.”
Pierro has won all eight of his career race starts and has earned more than $3.15 million in prize money during his career.
The Lonhro colt will now go on towards the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas and $3 million Cox Plate.
